SDLCE, School of Distance Learning & Continuing Education was established in the year 1988. SDLCE offers 75 programmes at different levels through 70 study centres including 16 MoU centres. Apart from class-room teaching, audio-video programmes are organized separately as part of the learning process. SDLCE broadcasts lessons and arranges phone-in-programmes through All India Radio, Warangal station. It brings out regularly a research journal Kaktiya Journal of Distance Education and a newsletter.
The SDLCE has been recognized as a Nodal Agency for undertaking Training and Research in the field of Distance Education with the establishment of Distance Education Quality Support & Training Institute (DEQSTI) with full financial assistance from the Distance Education Council, New Delhi and under its auspices it has organized several programmes. The School has established a Media Produciton Centre with the financial assistance by DEC and has been producing audio & video lessons.
